  • 'We had the clam chowder, fish sandwich, popcorn shrimps and the salt and vinegar fries. The clam chowder has the right amount of creaminess, with a smooth, velvety feel. The fish and shrimps were fried to perfection. We liked the mango tamarind sauce that came with the popcorn shrimps, but the tartar sauce is very flavorful, too. The portions were good for sharing and the prices are reasonable.'

  • 'We finally got a chance to try jacks chowder and it did not disappoint. Small place but the food they crank out of that tiny kitchen is impressive. Had the fish and chips and the chowder. All excellent. The salt n vinegar fries are better than I had expected and the coleslaw was shocking good, contained apples (a fresh and nice surprise). The chowder was excellent.'

“Came here for the first time August 2nd, Saturday around 11:45am. Ordered the clam chowder first before placing an order for fish and chips ahead of the lunch rush. I’ve been living in metro Vancouver since early 80s and I have to say Jack’s was the best chowder I’ve had since that time. The fresh seafood aroma in the broth, the chunkiness, fresh dill herbs, and the quantity/quality of meat was perfect for me. The fried fish and chips were excellent too. No heavy greasy feeling or oiliness experienced. Large portion of fish perfectly seasoned and battered not too heavily. Fries were yummy, and the coleslaw with apples was nice too. Service was fantastic, definitely coming back here again and will introduce to family and friends.
